• mining to insure that subsidence effects are detected before mining or
subsidence effects impact the creek.
DOE Monitoring Program
The DOE subsidence study is designed to determine the commencement, de-
velopment and magnitues of the subsidence phenomena that may occur
within the mine site. Specifically, the program is designed to provide
the following data: -
l. Maximum subsidence resulting from mining.
2. Subsidence profiles resulting from mining
3. Horizontal movement of the ground surface resulting from
mining.
4. Strain profiles resulting from mining
5. Determinations of angles of draw with respect to pitching
seam orientations
6. The affects of depth and mining geometry on subsidence
The monitoring net is installed above the first three iongwall panels to
be mined at No. 1 Mine.
i
27-2 (Rev151on JUNE 1982)
