• 4.6.1.5.4 Subsidence Monitoring Program
The subsidence monitoring program proposed by Snowmass Coal Company con-
sists of two parts.
The first part utilizes simple leveling points installed at selected loca-
bons within the mining omit envelopes. These leveling points will be
used to verify the contention that the limited extraction plan (section
4.6.1.5.3) will prevent material damage within the limited mining evelopes.
The second part of the monitoring program will utilize the subsidence

research being conducted as a part of the DOE rock mechanics study.
' This subsidence data will be used both to insure that the assumptions
• presented in the subsidence control plan are valid and to gather data for
future use in mine planning.
Leveling Points in Limited Extraction Areas
The first part of the subsidence monitoring program will be designed to
monitor the affects of mining on the conveyor structure and County Road
108. Simple leveting points will be installed to verify that the limited
~ extraction plan will prevent material damage to these structures.
These leveting points will be installed on the footers of the conveyor
structure. Spacing of these points will be a function of footer location.
However. leveling point spacing will not exceed 200 ft. These points will
• be resurveyed every 3 months.
27
(Revision JUNE 1982)
