T1te Following are some options for <br />rltenticnl treatments of diffuse & spotted <br />knnpwcctl: <br />..,.,. , <br />• 2,4-D (around trees and shallow <br />water tables) at 2gts/acre in the early <br />bud stage in the spring and a fall <br />retreatment:' <br />• Roundup•@ 1/l gallon/acre in the <br />spring at the bloom stage. , <br />• Banvel can be used if treatments are <br />at least 2.5 the height,from a tree <br />trunk and the daily high temp. is less <br />than SSF for the next three days. <br />Also the water table should be more <br />• than :10 feet beneath the surface. <br />Apply @ igt/acre at the~same timing <br />• Tordon`22K'is-the most effective on <br />knapweeds.@:lpt/acre,but should be <br />used only if treatments are at least <br />2.5 the height from a tree'trunk and <br />the water table is more than 10 feet <br />beneath the surface. <br />• Curtail (a premix of clopyralid & <br />2,4-D amine} @ 2gts)acra <br />• Transline/Stinger @ 3/4pt/acre for <br />most selective control around <br />desirable trees. <br />Proper calibration with a handsprayer / <br />handgun can be done.by : <br />I. Filling the sprayer with water to a <br />marked level. <br />2. Meazure an area 18.Sft x 18.Sft. <br />and uniformly spray it. <br />3. The fluid ounces required to refill <br />the tank to the marked level is the <br />gallons per acre you are applying. <br />_ .For example: Farmer X has <br />spr:tyect the 18.5 x ]A.5 ft. area and <br />measure 100 ounces back into the <br />tank. Xis applying 100 gallons per <br />acre. He wants to apply 1 pint of <br />Tordon 22k per acre.
