Box 187
Craig CO 81626
ATTN: Mr. Forrest Luke
SUBJ: NOI CX-2005-189-006, Abandonment Reports Receipt
Dear Mr. Luke:
The Division has received and reviewed the abandonment reports for NOI CX-2005-189-
06. Note that in your cover letter, you mention 17 drillholes, but there are actually 18
(14 with abandonment reports and 4 with monitoring well completion reports.) The
report satisfies the requirement in rule 4.07.3(3).
All that is required from the operator to initiate the bond release process is a written
request, which must be followed up within 30 days by the Division (weather permitting.)
For monitoring wells within the permit azea, the best course of action is to submit a
revision to the Division to include those wells, and the appropriate bond liability, into the
PAP. The remaining abandoned and reclaimed sites can then be inspected and all 18
drillholes accounted for.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to call me at 303-866-4928.
Sincerely,
Jim Burnell
Environmental Protection Specialist
Cc: Janet Binns
Office of Office of Colorado
Mined Land Reclamation Active and Inactive Mines Ceologiwl Survey
