RF'~•~~!!cn
FEB 7 fi CU01 EXHIBIT G
WATER INFORMATION DivisionotRec~amation,
Mining and Safely
This operation is not expected to directly affect the
surface or ground water systems at this site. The Bollish Pit #2
is located 6.0 miles west of and approximately 200 feet higher
than the South Platte River on a terrace deposit of gravel. We
have not encountered any ground water during the current mining
of the site. For this reason a Substitute Supply Plan and/or
Augmentation Plan will not be needed for this facility.
There are no water structures on the site. The North
Sterling Inlet Canal runs along the western edge of the site and
an ephemeral drainages cross the site from east to west, no water
has been observed in these drainage when we have been on the
site. Mining will not reach the ground water table since mining
will be into the hillside and above the canal water level. No
ground water will be exposed so no surface or subsurface water be
impacted by this mining operation. This is a dry mining
operation.
Review of well data on the surrounding area indicates the
water table is more than 100 feet below the existing ground
surface in this area. We do not expect to encounter ground water
on this site because its floor elevation will be 1 to 15 feet
lower than the existing ground elevations. We will not affect
the hydrologic balance of surface or subsurface water in the
area. The water used at this site is purchased from the landowner
for use on the project area.
There are no ditches or laterals crossing the site. There
is an ephemeral drainage that starts on the site but during the
past year we have not observed water running down it. The soils
on the site tend to absorb the minor amounts of moisture that
fall in the area. There are no wetland areas on the site. If
required a Storm Water Management Plan will be prepared for the
facility. The pit will be graded such that all surface water
runoff is retained on the site and all offsite runoff is diverted
around the property.
We estimate dust control for the various parts of the
operation, i.e. roads, crushing, washing, etc. uses 5 ac-ft per
year. Water used for our current operation is hauled to the site
from a source approved for industrial uses. No water will be
used for reclamation, nor will the revegetated areas be
irrigated.
The operators intent is to minimize the disturbances to the
prevailing hydrologic balance of the affected land, of the
surrounding area and to the quality and quantity of the surface
and ground water system, both during and after mining and
reclamation. We believe we will be in compliance will all state
and federal laws and regulations governing water and water
rights.
18
