EXHIBIT B
GENERAL

The pit would be on property described on the enclosed docu-
ments approximately 3 miles west of Gunnison. Eventually it would
comprise an area of about 400' X 1089' located within a 120 acre
parcel owned by the company. This pit would provide valuable com-
mercial products for Gunnison County including gravel, sand and
fill materials. By our estimate there are 500,000 tons of usable
material within the projected pit area. Based upon demand, we
would expect to mine approximately 10,000 tons of material per
year.
SEQUENCE OF OPERATION
It is proposed to start in Areas 1 and 2 (see Exhibit B-1)
with conventional clearing and grubbing operations. Then
overburden and topsoil will be removed and piled on the north and
south sides of Areas 1 and 2 for later use in reclamation. After
completion of the activity a crusher would be moved in to begin
mining operations in Area 1. The crusher would be set up
originally in Area 2. At completion of mining in Area 1, the
crusher would be moved to Area 1 in order to commence mining
operations in Area 2. The crusher would remain at the Area 1
location as the subsequent areas are mined in numerical sequence
from Area 3 through 10.
METHOD OF OPERATION
A crawler-type dozer will be used to do the clearing and
stockpiling of topsoil and overburden, estimated to be 6" to 12"
in depth. The dozer will then be used in conjunction with a
3-yard loader to push up material. The loader will also be used
to feed the crusher, stockpile material, and load trucks. The
crusher, scale house and scales, and the stockpiles of assorted
material types will be located in Areas 1 and 2.
No utilities would be needed as the crusher would be run by a
diesel generator. A portable sanitary facility would be set up
and water for personal use would be transported in portable
coolers. All trash would be stored in containers and removed from
the site to the county landfill area or other authorized disposal
site. Communicaiton would be by mobile radio to the Gunnison base
station in the administrative ofFice.
Hours of operation would be from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.,
Monday through Friday for the duration of the season. It is
expected that crushing operations would be done during the warm
season with complete shutdown of all operations beginning November
1st through May 1st yearly, depending on weather conditions.
