the south end but some is east of the Bull Seep Ditch on the east end
of the property. Crops consist of peppers , onions , potatoes , pumpkins
or squash , radishes , beans peas and other truck garden crops. Some of
the land had growing crops , some recently planted and other land being
prepared to plant.
2 . Pasture or Rangeland. Most of this land is on the north end
of the property. However , one small field is on the south end and
another east of the Bull Seep Ditch. It encompasses about 62 acres.
The majority of the vegetation , about 80 to 90% , consists of £orbs
(weeds) such as: Russian napwo_ed, white top , leafy spurge , mustard ,
ragweed , kochia , murdock , pepper grass , lambs quarter , bindweed ,
Canada thistle , and musk thistle. In wetter areas there was cattails ,
sedges , rushes , reed canary grass and other wetland vegetation.
Grasses mostly consisted of smooth brome , sand dropseed ,
cheatgrass , intermediate wheatgrass , western wheatgrass and some salt
grass. Trees and shrubs mostly consisted of cottonwoods , willows ,
Russian olive , birch and salt cedar.
3 . Other land. This consisted mostly of roads , houses , and
small areas mixed in the farmland. This area consisted of about 28
acres. The vegetation was about the same except that grass consisted
of about 30% to 80% of the vegetation , depending on the location. The
small other Land area on the east end also had red threeawn and needle
and thread grasses. It was also heavily infested with musk thistle.
RECLAMATION PLAN:
1 ) Slopes: During mining operations , cut or fill slopes should not
exceed 2: 1 slopes (2 horizontal to 1 vertical ) . Cut slopes should be
scarified a minimum of three inches deep prior to placement of any top
soil material .

2) Top Soil : During mining operations , topsoil should he stockpiled
to be used in reclamation of the area. The soil , Sm - Sandy Alluvial
Land, has very little topsoil , so enough topsoil should be stockpiled
for this area. Stockpiled topsoil should be protected from erosion.
After mining operations are completed , the area should be shaped and
• graded with no slopes exceeding 2: 1 . During mining if a pond is
created , slopes should be 3 : 1 above water level and for at least ten
feet below water level . Below ten feet , slopes could be 2: 1 . After
scarifying on the contour , topsoil should be spread six inches to one
foot thick over any disturbed area above water level , except where
buildings may be built. A seedbed should be prepared before the soil
is seeded to adapted vegetation.
3 ) Subsoiling: Haul routes and other compacted areas should be
subsoiled prior to placement of topsoil . The subsoiling should be at
least 18 " deep and not to exceed 30" apart. This should be done on or
near the contour of the land.
4 ) Mulching: After seeding is completed , approximately 4000 pounds
per acre of straw or hay mulch should be applied. This mulch should
