EXHIBIT E - RECLAMATION PLAN NARRATIVE
The reclamation plan for the property can be divided into four
general categories :
1 . The primary use for the property after mining is for a water
storage reservoir, the total of which could be 110± acres in
size . The actual final size of this reservoir is dependent
upon the setbacks from the South Platte River and Bull Seep,
and how much demand there is for water storage at the time of
completion of the mining. A future user of the storage
reservoir may want the reservoir configured with internal bank
separations . Thus, the actual size could be smaller, but the
sloping restrictions previously mentioned will be adhered to
with any internal separation banks . As mentioned in EXHIBIT
D, MINING PLAN, topsoil will be retained until the end to
guarantee revegetation of all of the exposed areas . However,
revegetation will generally occur as mining progresses . The
revegetation proposed is outlined in a later section of this
EXHIBIT F.
• 2 . The 5± acre area along 88th Avenue will be utilized in the
future as open space, or returned to farming. It will be mined
and backfilled with sand spoils and clean fill . Any compacted
areas will be subsoiled prior to spreading the 8, 000 cubic
yards of stored topsoil/surface material to a depth of
• approximately 12" . The area will then be seeded with grasses
as per the standards outlined later in this EXHIBIT F, if the
area is not immediately proposed for farming.
3 . The area east of the Bull Seep Ditch may be completely
backfilled with sand spoils and clean fill, and have no lake
• area. The other extreme alternative would be a lake of up to
22± acres in size, 6t of bank/periphery area, and 6± acres of
backfilled area for future urban development . Since the exact
date and size of this urban development area is unknown, the
mining plan will store the necessary cubic yards of
soil/overburden material stored along the south boundary of
• this area, to revegetate the entire 34± acres if necessary.
Whatever area is finally left as periphery, bank, and backfill
area will be revegetated to the standards as outlined in a
later section of this EXHIBIT F.
•
•
