Horner 77-180 <br />4) The remaining 4 applications were presented and approved <br />as follows: <br />a) The Valmont Pit - a 30 acre Sand and Gravel operation in <br />Boulder County was approved with an $8,000 non-floating <br />bond, and a special condition that the staff be allowed <br />to conduct the initial inspection after approval of the <br />application and if any discrepancies are found that they <br />may be brought to the Board's attention and the <br />appropriate changes made to the application materials. <br />b) The Fort Collins South Pit - an 86 acre Sand and Gravel <br />operation in Larimer County was approved with a floating <br />bond of $37,600 with the special conditions that during <br />the course of mining operations, total disturbances <br />shall not exceed 18 acres of Major, 18 acres of Moderate, <br />and 38 acres of Minor disturbances, and the same condi- <br />tions as above regarding previously mined lands, and staff <br />inspection. <br />c) The Swartz Pit - an 80 acre Sand and Gravel application <br />in Larimer County was approved with a floating bond in <br />the amount of $33,700 with the special conditions that <br />during the course of mining operations, total disturbances <br />shall not exceed 30 acres of Major, 15 acres of t•loderate, <br />and 15 acres of Alinor disturbances, and the same conditions <br />as above regarding previously mined lands, and staff <br />inspection. <br />d) The Greeley West Pit - a 200 acre sand and gravel operation <br />in Weld County was approved with a floating bond set at <br />$57,000 with the special conditions that during the course <br />of mining operation total disturbances shall not exceed <br />50 acres of active mining or backfilled areas and 35 acres <br />of plant and other surface facilities, and with the same <br />conditions as above regarding previously mined lands and <br />staff inspection. <br />If you have any questions regarding these actions, please don't hesitate <br />to call me. <br />Sincerely, <br />Janice W.
