Savage and Savage was contracted by Aggregate Industries to
delineate the Tucson site thought to contain waters of the United States atxi potential
wetlands. The Tucson site consists of four parcels comprising approximately 316 acres
contained within the E%: and SW'/. of Section 1 and the NW/. of Section 12, Township 1
South, Range 67 West of the Sixth Prime Meridian, Adams County, Colorado. Three
parcels are situated north of Co lorado State Highway 7 and bisected by Tucson Street, the
remaining parcel is located south of Colorado State Highway 7. Generally, the site is
located between the South Platte River to the east and the Brighton Ditch to the west.
Currently, the site has several ongoing land uses itx:l'~' g agricuhure (cattle feed, com,
and fallow fields), a feedlot, residential, arul otUgas production Adjacent land uses
include residential, agriculture, and existing sand and gravel extraction operations.
Waters of the United States
Waters of the Uttited States (WOTUS) were identified adjacent to the Tucson site.
Waters of the United States were found within the South Platte River. The South Platte
River is not slated for disttu•bance.
Non-Jurisdictional Potential Wetlands
It has been the opinion of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Omaha D'utrict that
wetlands created by roan-induced imgation that would revert to uplands if the irrigation
activity were to be terminated do not fall under Corps jurisdiction The sideslope seep
below the Brighton DRCh along the west boundary of the project site is a potential
wetland that would revert to uplands if the irrigation activity were terminated.
