DESCRIPTION - CONSTRUCT STREAM DIVERSION, 48 -INCH CORRUGATED STEEL PIPE <br />CSP CULVERT, RIPRAP INLET STRUCTURE AND OUTLET STRUCTURE IN <br />ACCORDANCE WITH THESE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS. COORDINATE TUBE <br />DRAWINGS AND CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCING WITH SUBGRADE PREPARATION AND FILL <br />PLACEMENT. <br />2. STREAM DIVERSIONS - PRIOR TO EXCAVATING AND FILLING FOR PIPE, INLET AND <br />OUTLET STRUCTURES, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL DIVERT THE STREAM CHANNEL TO <br />BYPASS THE CONSTRUCTION AREA. THE DIVERSION SHALL. BE SUFFICIENT TO <br />BYPASS LOW FLOWS AND ANY REASONABLY EXPECTED FLOOD FLOWS. THE <br />CONTRACTORS SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR M"NITAINING THE DIVERSION SUCH <br />ME <br />THAT HIS WORE MAY PROCEED UNINTERRUPTED Aft THE DRY. 1 <br />3. A <br />LETTER CERTIFYING THAT THE PIPE RAS BEEN MANUFACTURED IN <br />ACCORDANCE WITH THIS STANDARD SHALL BE FURNISHED. THE PIPE SHALL <br />HAVE A MINIMUM WALL THICKNESS OF 0.109 INCHES AND A STEEL AREA OF <br />1.356 IN2 /FT, AND SHALL BE HELICALLY WOUND WITH REFORM ENDS TO <br />ACCEPT COUPLER BANDS. COUPLER BANDS SHALL. RIPRAP STRUCTURES - RIPRAP INLET AND OUTLET STRUCTURES SHALL BE <br />CONSTRUCTED OF DURABLE IGNEOUS BOULDERS EXCAVATED FROM THE SITE. <br />SANDSTONE ROCK MAY BE USED IF IT IS HARD, DURABLE AND NOT SUBJECT TO <br />MECHANICAL DAMAGE BY EQUIPMENT OR AIR OR WATER BLAZING. THE RIPRAP <br />SHALL PRIMARILY CONSIST OF THE SIZES NOTED ON THE PLANS (AT LEAST 50% <br />BY VOLUME), HOWEVER, SMALLER SIZES SHALL BE USED TO FILL SPACES BETWEEN <br />THE LARGER SIZES. THE ROCK SHALL BE CAREFULLY PLACED TO FORM A DENSE <br />INTERLOCKING LAYER WITH INTERSTITIAL SPACES FILLED AND THE EXPOSED <br />SURFACE ROCKS PROTRUDING IN AN IRREGULAR MANLIER TO CREATE A ROUGHNESS <br />SIMILAR TO THE NATURAL STREAM. THE STRUCTURES SHALL TRANSITION TO <br />MATCH THE SHAPE OF THE NATURAL CHANNEL AT THE UPSTREAM AND DOWNSTREAM <br />ENDS. <br />5.
