Below ground the fine refuse will be clarified and dewatered by a solid
• bowl scroll-type centrifuge The coarse refuse will be dewatered on a
double-deck screen (Figure II.A-5). Effluent fror~i the centrifuge and drain-
age from the screen will be collected in a common sump and returned to the
static thickener at the wash plant. The water circuit will be closed-looped
and any fines generated during coarse slurry haulage will be captured as thick-
ener underflow and subsequently removed and dewatered on their return trip to
the mine. The underground dewatered solids with 10-15 percent moisture con-
tent, will be fed to the pneumatic feeder by conveyor and pneumatically trans-
ferred approximately 1,000 to 1,500 ft for placement in the appropriate mine
location (Figure II.A-6).
