Below ground the fine refuse will be clarified and dewatered by a solid <br />• bowl scroll-type centrifuge The coarse refuse will be dewatered on a <br />double-deck screen (Figure II.A-5). Effluent fror~i the centrifuge and drain- <br />age from the screen will be collected in a common sump and returned to the <br />static thickener at the wash plant. The water circuit will be closed-looped <br />and any fines generated during coarse slurry haulage will be captured as thick- <br />ener underflow and subsequently removed and dewatered on their return trip to <br />the mine. The underground dewatered solids with 10-15 percent moisture con- <br />tent, will be fed to the pneumatic feeder by conveyor and pneumatically trans- <br />ferred approximately 1,000 to 1,500 ft for placement in the appropriate mine <br />location (Figure II.A-6). <br />Additional details of the disposal system are in the "Revised Program Plan <br />for Detailed Design and Demonstration of Underground Disposal of Coal Mining <br />Wastes" which is Appendix A of this preliminary application. <br />• <br />• <br />10 <br />
