Burden will range from 29 to 42 feet. Forty-two feet was used based upon the recommended burden to spacing ratio of 1.6 specified in "Explosives and Rock Blasting", Atlas Powder
Company, 1987
2. Typical depth of 100 fee[ was used based upon conversations with Tay Tonozzi, and Brian Greg, of Colowyo. Curtent highwall mining practices limits the depth of cast blasting to a
nominal depth of 100 feet.
3. Based upon historical and current practices at Colowyo.
4. For the purposes of this cost estimation it was assumed that 20 blast holes could be loaded, stemmed and delays set in 1 hour.
Revision Date 4/18/07
TABLE 14 Exh 13A-T14-1 Revision No. PR-02
