APR. 9.2002 10~07RM TWENTYMILE COAL ENVIRONMENTRL N0.871 P.il
structuues) welded to the support beams, The steel straps will be welded to the existing 48" diameter casing. Once this
is completed a 24 inch thick reinforced concrete slab will be constructed over the previously placed slab and decking.
The void from on top of the concrete slab to within five feet of the surface will be backfilled with fill material
(approximately 1.4 ~ from the surrounding area, The next two feet of the shaft will then be filled with concrete to
form a top plug for the shaft. Fill material will ba placed in the remaining three feet ofthe shaft (approximately 1.4
C17 and then the site will be topsoiled and revegetated. The redistributed topsail wi116e seeded with the pastureland
seed mixture.
1E1VID Ventilation Site
When the facilities are no longer required, they will be dismantled and removed 1mm the site. The fans, silencer,
supports and associated buildings will be hauled away from the she. The concrete pads, footers and piers will be
broken up and placed into the cased holes. The bottom fifteen feat of each hole will have a cement plug placed in it and
the remainder of the hole, excluding the Twentymile Sandstone and 20 feet above and below it, will be filled with inert
material, The top ten feet, excluding the top 3 feet that will be filled with soil, will have a cement plug placed in ix.
Auer the holes have been plugged and the building materials removed, the site will be regraded to blend in with the
surrounding topography, The topsoil will then be reapplied to the site and needed with a pastureland seed mixture,
Dewaterlne Borehole
Upon completion of mining, and when the system is no longer required, the facilities will be removed and the site
reclaimed. Removal of the surface facilities will involve dismantling of surface structures, which includes the
powerline, transformer and pad, chemical end pump control building and pad, ponds, and road. After the facilities are
removed, the site will be regraded to blend in with the existing topography and the stockpiled topsoil redistributed over
the area. The topsoil redistributed over the dewatering site and reclaimed road segmens will be seeded with the
pastureland seed mixture. The existing road and beginning segment Will be left in place to servo the postmining land
use. The topsoil windrowed or stockpiled adjacent to the road will be seeded with pastureland need mixture.
N1VTD Power Borehole ,
Upgn completion of mining, and when the power borehole is no longer required, the facilities will be removed and the
site reclaimed. Removal of the surface facilities will involve dismantling of surface stuctures, which includes the
powerline, transformer and pad, road and culvert and building, After the facilities are removed, the site will be
regraded to blend in with the existing topography and the stockpiled topsoil redistributed over the area. The topsoil
redistributed over the power borehole pad and reclaimed road segments will be seeded with the pastureland seed
mixdrre. The entire road will be chisel-plowed after removing the geotextile.
IVW Mains Ventilation Shaft And Thickener Underfloor Proiect(TR01~91
When the IVW Mains ventilation shaft and fan installation are no longer required to support ongoing or firhrre mining
operations, the associated surface facilities wiU be removed, the shaft will be plugged and se4led, and surface
disturbance areas will be reclaimed The fan equipment, buildings, power line, and poles will be removed and reused at
another local, salvaged, or disposed ofoff--site. Concrete pads will be broken up cad foundations will be demolished to
at least 20 feat below grade, and the resulting concrete debris will be disposed of in the shaft opening, The shag collar
concrete will also be broken up and disposed of into the shaft opening, leaving an open space for the concrete decking,
concrete slab sod backfiU maDerial t4 be placed is the shaft void. Shaft plugsing and sealing will involve construction
and placement of a prefabricated framework of steal support beams, steel composite decking and 4" of concrete to be
placed at the bottom of the shaft collar (approximately 20' below grade), which will rest oa the lower shaft liner. Once
this is completed a 24 inch think reinforced concrete slab will be constructed over fire previously placed slab and
decking. The concrete in this slab will also flow down and fiU in the annular space between the C-channel and
surrounding strata as shown in Exhibit 268, sactioa 3/S-1.
