The DOW should review the vegetation lists
presented in the permit and comment if appropriate.
DOW - Perform controlled burns, fertilization, seeding and/or other
vegetative manipulations which enhance wildlife habitats on other portions
of the property in order to offset the lost habitat when the mine site is
established.
Applicant - No interest expressed.
DOW - Develop atraffic management plan including speed zones for periods
during the year when big game animals are concentrated in the area.
Applicant -Car pooling will be encouraged. Speed zones do not fall under
the jurisdiction of the applicant except on the mine property. Because of the
configuration of the roads on the property, speed zones will be established
• and enforced at 20 to 30 mph. This speed limit should not pose a problem
for big game.
DOW - Develop a compatible hunting management plan for the property
which will allow hunting and harvest of big game animals during legal hunting
seasons.
Applicant - No interest expressed.
DOW -Future reclamation efforts should focus on reestablishing original
contours and revegetating the area with a proven mix of plants beneficial for
wildlife use.
Applicant -This issue is addressed in Section 2.05.4.
DOW -There is potential for a conservation easement to be established on
the property which could allow for mining use of the property while forgoing
future development of the property. There have been some reported tax
. benefits which are realized with these easements.
PR-oa 2.05 - 64 - o~ioi
