There
is evidence of extensive gavel mining operations past and present in the general area. The proposed
site is adjacent to two mined areas, an existing gavel operation and a reclaimed mine site. The pasture
where the mine is proposed has also been severely grazed. This area currently provides very little
habitat for wildlife and therefore approval of this permit would not significantly impact local wildlife
populations.
Shane L.
