Walker - 4979 CR 250 <br />Durango, CO 81302 <br />Dear Mr. Bischoff: <br />Mr. John Dillon of Sandco Inc. has requested a determination <br />regarding local government review of the Walker Sand Pit. The <br />pit is located in the NLVa of Section 27 T36N., R9W., N.A1.P.M. <br />The sand extraction operation has been in existence for thirty <br />years or more and therefore pre-existed any local government <br />land use regulations. <br />PURCHASING ~ April 28, 1977 the La Plata County Building and Zoning <br />l O6O EAST SECOND AVENUE Departinent, after an inspection of the site, prepared a letter <br />for Mr. Rade H. Orell of your agency. That letter indicated <br />ROAD AND BRIDGE acceptance of the pit under the then adopted La Plata County <br />26616 HIGHWAY 160 <br />Zoning Ordinance. <br />SHERIFF <br />POST OFFICE BO%2220 The same 1977 philosophy will apply to this request.
