FROM :SRGE HILL FRX N0. :970 785 6034 Apr. 16 2062 12:29PM P3
Mr. Anthony J. Waldron
16 Apri12002
Page 3
alternative. However, the magrutude of these changes will likely be within the range of
existing groundwater fluctuations, which appear to be 1 to 2 feet " This statemettt
ignores the cumulative effect of the groundwater changes. For example, if the
wetland naturally drops by 2 feet and then the mining operation causes the wetland to
drop by 2 feet, that actually makes a 4 foot drop in the water table, which would be
significantly outside the normal range of fluctuations for the wetland.
All the above points, plus several other minor concerns, have been expressed to Owens in
detail. As stated in point 1 above, the central component of the November 2001 plan
has been eliminated dne to the county barrow pit issue, and so far no aew approach
has been presented.
Thank you, Tony, for taking time to consider the above concerns regarding the impact of
the Owens mining operation on my wetland. I very much appreciate your help on this
issue.
Sincerely, ~f
Ci~~'IL
Cynthia Parker
Owner, Sage Hill Farm
