EXIiIBIT E - RECLAMATION PLAN
'TYPE OF RECLAMATION
Because two different groups of claims are mined out of
one adit, using essentially the same surface area, the
affected acreage has been divided between Cotter Corporation
and the other party, Kelmine Corporation, for purposes
of reclamation.
Using a Caterpillar D-7, or other appropriate equipment,
the waste dump will be graded into the existing hillside,
extending the toe of the hill out as far as necessary
without impairing existing drainage. Compacted areas
will be scarified. (See Exhibit A for breakdown of
affected acreage).
LAND USE
The JD-6 area is zoned agricultural-open by the Montrose
County Planning Department, permitting mining operations
as a use by right. At present the use is multiple-purpose:
mining, wildlife habitat, and winter rangeland. In the
foreseeable future, postmining land use will be the same.
• RECLAMATION PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Grading
Grading will be carried on so. as to create a final topography
appropriate for future mining, wildlife habitat, and use
as winter rangeland. Slopes will approximate a 2:1 grade
and will not exceed the natural angle of repose of the
waste material. Backfilling and grading will be completed _
as soon as feasible after the mining process which is
currently projected to be fifteen to twenty years from
now. All refuse will be hauled away from the mine site.
Drill sites will be plugged with a device approved by the
Bureau of Land Management.. Cuttings piles will be buried
and/or spread 'thin and revegetated. Adits and shafts will
be sealed permanently providing conditions stipulated in
the lease agreement are satisfied.
Water
Because no surface water is affected and the water encountered
underground from the perched water bodies is not brought
to the surface, statements in this section are not applicable.
