The Division requests that the operator commit to providing the Division with.a post-
mining stream channel survey for each of the three (3) sections to be mined prior io
approval of final bond release. Please respond.
A post-channel survey for each of the three sections will be provided prior to
request for final release of the pit.
3. "1'he Division requests that the applicant provide a revised channel dintcnsion cross-
sc;e;tion, for each of the three (3) sections to he mined, which shows the dimensions of the
beam width nr `:tietback distance" for adjacent lluodplain areas to be excavated to up to
15 feet below ground surface. The applicant should also specify the slope dimensions to
be maintained during mining of the surrounding, adjacent lands. {The Division
recommends adoption of a minimum beret width (ur selhack distance) of lU Icet tram the
edge of each stream band and excavation at no steeper than a 1:1 slope). Please respond.
Revised channel dimension cross-sections for the three areas arc attached. Actual
depth in intermittent drainage depends upon the availability of material. Berm
widths will be no less than 10 feet in width, 'I'hc bank on the intermittent drainage
side will be no steeper than 1:1.
4. The Division requests that the following criteria he followed in re-establishing
reclaimed stream bands of Sandy C.rcck: slopes less than ur equal to five (5) feet in height
will be rc-established at a 1:1 slope, slopes gyroater than five (5) five feet in height will be
ere-established at a 2:1 slope.
'1'hc criteria suggested by the Division will be employed as the drainage channel is
re-established.
5. 'The 1ivision recommends that the applicant/operator leave, where feasible, existing
mature coltonwovd trees and/or other large, native woody vegetation.
We will attempt to leave large, mature trees whenever possible during excavation.
(1.4.12 F.XHBiT G - Recaamation C.'osts
G.
