A total of approximately 3,900 acres are contained within the Seneca II-W permit boundary.
This number excludes the Tie-across Haul Road permit area of approximately 200 acres.
Exhibits 20-1 and 20-1A depict areas that could potentially be disturbed during this permit
term (2001-20051. The boundaries shown on this map were drawn to allow some degree of
flexibility in operations. That is, if a haulage road had to be moved due to field adjustments, or
a highwall reduction area required additional slope area, these operations could be conducted
without revisions to the permit. In actuality, haul road disturbance is confined to a corridor
approximately 150 feet to 200 feet wide. The acreages given below reflect the shaded areas
as shown on Exhibits 20-1 and 20-tA and the revegetation maps, Exhibit 22-1 and 22-1A.
These areas are conservatively overestimated for the reasons stated above.
Disturbance Areas:
Actual Mine Disturbance Area (1989-2000)
= 923.7' ac
Minimal Disturbance Area
Future Disturbance Area
Total
111ncludes Haul Roads I, J and K
~1Not included in the total
z
= 58.6 ac
= 511.0 ac
= 1434.7 ac
13 Revised 01/02
