UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE
SOIL CONSERVATION SERVICE
301 South Howes, Room 327, Ft. Collins, CO. 80521

December 8, 1978
Mined Land Reclamation Board
~~723, Centennial Building
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, CO. 80203
Dear Sirs:
In referring to your file ~F78-327, I feel that a soil test on the
- soil that is laid back over this pit will vary widely from place to place
due to the diversity of soils that have been stockpiled for this purpose.
I feel that it is reasonable to assume that the general fertility will
be low, and that an application of fertilizer to get the new seeding
started will be beneficial. I would suggest that a fertilizer contain-
ing the following be applied:
actual nitrate nitrogen 40~k/acre
actual P205 40~k/acre
This should be disked into the soil to a depth of two to four inches.
Sincerely,
Albert Yoxa 1
Soil Conservationist
Fort Collins Field Office
0
