C~ <br /> <br />• <br />2.05.3 <br />TR-27 <br />/9 PPRavE.D R~Z~~o3 <br />1 j Haul Road -State H~hway 133 to Portal Level <br />General <br />This haul road handles the small amount of the coal hauled from the site and <br />is approximately 9500-feet long. Coal haul trucks enter the property and <br />proceed to the portal level. The trucks are loaded by a front end loader and <br />return to old State Highway 133. The drainage from the majority of this road <br />is roufed to sediment Pond B and C. Alternative sediment control is utilized <br />for the first 100 to 150 feet of the haul road. The upper 2,500 feet of this <br />road will be utilized to haul coal from the B-Seam bench up to the D-Seam <br />bench. <br />The combination of paving, dust control, sediment control on the majority of <br />the road and utilization of alternative sediment control on the remainder of <br />the road will assure that erosion, siltation, pollution of air or water, and <br />damage to public property will be controlled. These controls will also assure <br />that no damage to fish and wildlife or other related environmental values will <br />occur. <br />This road is the main access to the mine facilities so employees, contractors, <br />vendors, supply vehicles and visitors will utilize this road. This road will also <br />be utilized to haul gob from the portal bench to the gob pile. The truck traffic <br />which will utilize this haul road segment will be 10 and 18 wheel trucks. This <br />road has two 12-foot lanes with curve widening on curves with a radius of <br />less than 180-feet. A 24-foot wide paved road surface with curve widening <br />should be adequate for the intended traffic. <br />2.05 - 19ii - 6/03 <br />
