• <br />EXHIBIT K - Climate <br /> <br />The Alamosa Area has a climate characterized by cold <br />winter, cool summers, low precipitation, strong winds in <br />spring, and much sunshine. A summary of temperature and <br />precipitation data is attached. <br />Rainfall in the area is low, averaging slightly more than 6 <br />inches. About 80 percent of the annual precipitation <br />occurs from April to October, and most of this is in July <br />and August. <br />The average summer temperature is about 62 degrees F. and <br />average yearly temperature is about 41 degrees F. The <br />average growing season is 93 days at Alamosa. The average <br />date of the last killing frost in spring is June 4, and the <br />average date of the first killing frost in fall is <br />September 5. <br />
