EXHIBIT I - Soils Information
Please refer to attached portions of the "Soil Survey of
Alamosa Area, Colorado" published by the Soil Conservation
Service. As shown on the soil map for the area, the main
type of soil involved on the site is the "Corlett-Hooper
complex, undulating". A small portion of the NE corner
involves the related "Space City loamy fine sand, alkali
substratum".
As described in the narrative concerning each of these
soils, vegetation is sparse and both soils are very
alkaline which restricts vegetation to alkali resistant
species. In any case no "topsoil" exists at the site and
no attempt will be made to salvage topsoil. It is expected
that subsoils exposed by excavation will provide as good of
a growth medium as the the soil now on top of the ground.
The Natural Resource Conservation Service has been asked to
provide recommendations for seeding and reclamation of the
site. These will be forwarded when received.
Also attached are pictures of the existing growth at the
site and pictures of the existing topsoil.
