Based both on the location and type of action being proposed the Division believes impacts to the wildlife
resource to be negligible.
We recommend that topsoil be stockpiled, to be used in reclamation process. Reclamation will be most effective if
slopes aze contoured to match surrounding topography and seeded with native vegetation. Your local Natural
Resource Conservation (NRCS) office can provide appropriate grass seed formulas.
Disturbed soils are vulnerable to invasion by noxious plants. A plan to eliminate these plants will help minimize
eradication expenses, both onsite and for neighboring landowners.
We appreciate being given the opportunity to comment. Please feel free to contact DWM Warren Cummings at
(719) 775-2025 should you have any questions or requve additional information.
Sincerely,
Shaun !~
Area Wildlife Manager
xc: File
Region
Cummings
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES, Russetl George, E>aeaArve Director
WILDLIFE COMMISSION, Jeffrey Crawford, Chao • Tom Burke, Yoe Chair.
