1
EXHIBIT E
• RECLAFtATION PLAN
The Reclamation Plan is to return the site to its natural condition of
open rangeland. A mixture of grasses suitable to the area has been
recommended by the Soil Conservation Service. As noted in the soil des-
criptions, this area is poorly suited to windbreaks and environmental
plantings.
In the next season of operation, the County will re-dress the previously
mined area, as necessary, to conform with the recommended slopes and
drainage, etc. The volunteer existing vegetation will be left undisturbed
where possible. Then, the disturbed portion of the area, except for the
access road, will be re-seeded in accordance with the recommended site
r-evegetation plan.
On the new area to be mined, the County will also initiate the reclamation
• plan as part of the mining operations. This area is a gravel outbreak
and there is essentially no topsoil material existing. The top 6" of
vegetation and soil fines will be replaced on the site to provide as good
a growth medium as possible.
All finished areas will be shaped to not exceed a 4:1 slope. All areas
will be left in a rough condition to minimize wind erosion and runoff and
encourage natural re-seeding.
Upon completion of the pit or the end of the lease, the County will com-
plete the seeding of the site in accordance with the Soil Conservation
Service recommendations. See Exhibit I & J, pp. 21-16 of this report.

17 EXHIBIT E
