40586 Co. Rd 21
Herron, CO SO731
June 13, 2005
Mr. Terry McKee
U.S. Army Corps ofEagineers
9307 Wadsworth Boulevard
Littleton, CO 80128-6901
Re: Proposed Sprague Scraper Service Gravel P$
File No. M-2005-032
Corps File No. 200580328
Dear Mr. McKee:
r
c~/~
The Sprague Scraper Service, Inc. is curremly applying to the Colorado Division of
Minerals and Geology fora 9.9-acre gravel permit to be located in the SW 1/4 of Section
25, TSN, R49W of the 6th P.M., Washington County, Colorado. The proposed pit would
actually be mining sand and gravel from a site adjacent to the normally dry Rock Creek. A
copy of a reference map is attached.
The invent of Sprague Scraper Service is to mine the sand/gravel in the field next to the dry
aeekbed. The ultimate plan for the pit is to remove the top two feet of topsoil and
overburden, mine approximately 15 feet of gravel, and then replace the topsoil and return
the site to be farmed. No fill will be added. Only the topsoiUoverburden will be replaced
as the pit is closed. No groundwater will be encountered.
Please let me know if we need to obtain any permits from the Corps of Engineers and what
additional information is needed, if any. Thank you.
Sincerely,
~S'~c~ ~~
randy Schafer
Corrsuharrt
Enclosures: USGS Quad
Site Map
