Ju~~ 1999 Sorera Caul Comparry ' Yaa.r! aline Srdimenlarion Pond 073 Slaln'Gry Ana}+++ 13
C I
2.0 RESULTS
The following results were realized using the input data described:
TABLE 4
STABILITY RESULTS
EMBANKMENTMATERWL BASED9ATERIAL BISHOPF05
Sand Cla Sliehd Sand Clav 1.94
As described under Rule 4.05.6 (I I) (k), all surface water impoundment swctures must be conswcted
with a SF not less than 1.3. As shown in Table 4, Sedimentation Pond 013 will meet the criteria for
stability. In order to ensure the embankment is constructed within these parameters, the following
recommendations have been presented.
3.0 RECOMMENDATIONS
•
In order to achieve the design parameters, it is recommended that the following procedures be utilized in
the construction of the sedimentation pond embankrttents:
1.) Upon clearing topsoil and non-engineered fill materials, and construction of embankment
key-way, have Registered Eneineer verify subgrade material classification in association
with this stability report.
2.) Also, have Registered Engineer verify embankment fill progenies prior [o consvuction.
3.) Construct embankment in maximum 1-foot horizontal lifts.
4.) Compact each individual lift to 9590 of standard proctor using available equipment.
5.) Maintain upstream and downstream slopes no steeper than 3H:1 V.
4.0 REFERENCES
CJ
Huang, Yang H. (1983). Stnbilirv Ana/ysis of Enrth Slopes. University of Kentucky.
