Therefore, the Division would like to 9o with Dr.
Berg's recommendation of 65 pounds per acre of nitrogen.
For how many years will the bench areas be checked for chlorosis problems
in the vegetation? The Division recommends monitoring for at least 5 years.
If chlorosis is found in the vegetation, what will be the rate of nitrogen
fertilization? Will this rate be based on a soil analysis?
How will the topsoil be spread (e.g., hand, dozer, scraper) onto the
be h areas?
Exhibit H - Wildlife Information
Prior to consideration of this application by the Board, information. for
this exhibit is required from the operator. The basis for this request is
pursuant to C.R.S. 1973, 34-32-112{3)(d) and further explained under Rule
2.12(8) of the Rules and Regulations.
Exhibit L - Reclamation Costs
The respreading costs for soil will be $0.62.yd if you utilize Model
613-B scraper. Please specify if this is to be the scraper of use, if you
have not already done so under C.8.
The Division will recommend bend set for the first year of this operation
at $4,800.00. This $100.00 increase from your costs is for grading and shaping
costs of $70.00/h r.
The issues addressed in the earlier adequacy letter regarding Individual
Reclamation Fund have been resolved, and this method of bonding is acceptable,
and may even seta precedent to be used by other small operators.
®Exhibit M - Local Government Approval
A phone conversation with the office of the Clear Creek County Planning
Director indicates that the Planning Commission will not discuss this matter
until May 16, which in turn, means that June 6 is the earliest date at which
the County Commissioners might consider approval or denial. Therefore, the
Division recommends the operator request continuance of this matter, due to lack
of compliance with local zoning at this time. If the operator wishes to pursue
this matter before the Board at the April meeting, the Division may be forced
to recommend permit application denial.
If you have any questions, feel free to call.
S'nc rely, ,~
C "~$'L,
Pe er V.
