Letter to Ralph W. Power 2 June 22. ?000
• You raise the concern that the gravel pit is not compatible with existing and proposed residential
uses in the area. As stated previously, the decision as to whether a gravel pit is an acceptable land
use in a particular location rests with the local land use authority. Your concem with the
compatibility of the pit with surrounding uses is outside the Board's jurisdiction, and should be
pursued with the local land use authority.
I will contact you with information on the time and location of the informal conference, pre-hearing
conference, and the Formal Public Hearing once this information becomes available. You will also be
provided a copy of the DMG's rationale and recommendation on the application prior to the Formal
Public Hearing. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Allen C.
