Doc Date:12/11/2001 III III III IIIIIII III
999
• ~'~ 4.09 DISPOSAL OF EXCESS SPOIL AND UNDERGROUND DEVELOPMENT WASTE
No excess spoil will be generated and no underground development waste
will be disposed of on the surface in the mine area.
EFCI, in order to maximize coal recovery and overall mine productivity,
completes the majority of necessary development work in the minable coal
seams. As a consequence, no significant quantities of mine development
waste are produced and the limited quantities of mine development waste
material which are produced can be readily disposed of in mined-out areas.
In order to establish the mine portal and facilities area, Dorchester
excavated material from the face-up area and utilized the excavated
material as fill in the portal bench and mine facilities area. None of
the excavated material was stockpiled and all of the fill material has
been placed in a stable configuration which will not be significantly
• altered by future mining or reclamation activities.
•
4.09-1
