CONDITIONS FOR APPROVAL
® The proposed operation does not anticipate exposing groundwater. Therefore, exposure of ground water must not
occur during or after mining operations. The applicant intends to mine just above the water table, which is at a
depth of approximately 11 feet.
^ The proposed operation will consume Bound water by ^evaporatioq ^dust control, ^reclamation, ^water
removed in the mined product, ^processing, ^other:
Prior to initiation of these uses of ground water, the applicant will need to obtain either a gravel pit or other type
of well permit, as applicable. Prior to obtaining a pemtit, an approved water supply plan or decreed plan for
augmentation is required.
^ Prior to approving a well permit, the applicant must conduct a field inspection of the site and document the
locations of all wells within 600 feet mile of the permit area. The applicant must then obtain a waiver of
objection from all well owners with wells within 600 feet of the perttilt area or contact this office regazding the
600 foot spacing notification/hearingproCess.
® The proposed operation may have potential impact on existing water rights near the project location. Please
provide evidence [hat the proposed project will not alter or impact the historic operation of existing water rights.
® The applicant has indicated plans to use other water for: reclamation uses at the permit site, including storage in
the excavated area(s). The applicant will need to provide evidence to this office [hat the water is permitted or
decreed for such uses. The submittal indicated that water from the Uncompahgre Valley Water Users Association
has historically been used on the irrigated pastureland on the site, but no details were provided regarding other
current or future uses involving this source or other water sources.
® Other: Although the submittal indicated that the mined azea will be used as a pond after nilning has ceased, the
applicant did not provide information about water use during or after mining, including the source of water to fill
the proposed pond. This information must be provided io our office so that we can evaluate the potential for
material injury to vested water rights as a result of the proposed operation.
COMMENTS:
