Water quality on the Colorado River has been studied for many
years. Table 3.3-6 is a summary of data collected since 1941.
The table shows that the water is of generally good quality, but
maximum values indicate that water quality can be poor at times.
3.3.6 Affected Watersheds
The permit area is contained within three watersheds: the Colorado
River, Alkali Creek, and South Canyon Creek. Underground mining
operations may be conducted in all three watersheds during the life
of the mine; however, the surface facilities will be located only
in the Colorado River Basin.
