i •
EXHIBIT "L"
The following costs are based on the 1981 Great Plains Conser-
vation Program cost docket used in cost sharing under that program:
Backfilling Topsoil-$.43 per cubic yard, a 4" layer of
topsoil equals 540 cubic yards for a total cost of $232.00-
per acre.
Seedbed PrepaYation-$33.29 per acre with three or more
operations.
Seed and Seeding-$30.00 per acre. Yditli the species
recommended, the seed costs could be lower than this.
None of the suggested species are very expensioe at this
time.
Fertilizer-$.61 per lb. Nitrogen, $.86 per lb. P O5,
$.18 per lb. K2O. Meadows crossed by the Mt. El~ert
Conduit required 120 lbs. N, 80 lbs. P 0 and 40 lbs.
of K 0. Using this recommendation as a guideline, total
cost2per acre would be $149.20. If topsoil is replaced,
the fertilizer requirements should be less as there was
no topsoil on the previously mentioned conduit.
Mulching-$165.38 per acre. This figure is possibly a
bit too low as the cost for 2 tons of hay would cover
most of this figure, with little left for application.
However, since the hay will not be ground, the amount
is probably adequate.
Fencing-$.44 per linear foot, for barbed wire, $.63 per
linear foot for woven wire. Fencing a square plot of
ten acres would require 1,161.00 for the first and 1,663.20
for the second. Per acre costs would be $116.16 and
$166.32 respectively. Final reclaimation may indicate.
that fencing will not be required.
Grading and Leveling-$120.00 per acre using Websters own
equipment.
Irrigation-$30.00 per acre as required to irrigate reclaimed
land area.
~ ~~?:
~v
