This pit is several hundred feet above the ground water table, so <br />that no water will surface during mining operations. <br />(Page 2, Exhibit D) <br />The surface of thi pit, when reclaimed will be that of a completly closed basin with side <br />b>'' slopes not exceeding 1:3. Please disregard comments in the original ayy~cation concernins <br />"gat land" <br />Mr. Larry Kawanabe of the Costilla County SCS in a telephone conversation in mid <br />October indicated that 5.5 lbs pls of Crested Wheat, 8 Ibs pls Yellow Sweet Clover, <br />d /~ 6.5 Ibs pls Cicer Milk Vetch, and 0.5 Ibs pls four wing salt bush per acre would be <br />acceptable. Mr. ICawanbe also indicated that the seed mixture be drilled along the <br />reclaimed contour) lines. <br />Melby will not place rock or other materal in this pit but he has placed rock spoil from <br />61L nearby pipeline excavations on nearby property; Mr. Dilley has indicated the Division has <br />no interest in this material as long as it was not a direct result of a mining operation. <br />p`l' An additional 53,500.00 Financial Warranty has been posted as requested by the Division. <br />(Page 3,Exhibit E) <br />No mining is proposed outside the permit area and the 8690 contour line in question is the <br />k ~ existing contour line. Enclosed please find a copy of a topographic overlay prepared prior <br />,t~, to the mining activities that have occured.
