• • Draft
6-TS AP
-Rock Outcrop - Un (Cabrini) - Retake Codex, 50 to 100
c i..,.e~ ._ _-
Shis complex occupies mountain sideslopes and canyon malls. The
soils formed in gravelly, loam. material derived from metamorphic e~
igneous rocks. - - - .
Average amuel precipitation ranges from 17 to 19 inches. Mann
annual temperature is about 46° F. Frost free season ranges from 76
to 125 days. Elevations range from 6500 to 7800 feet. Aspects_ are
generally south, east, and vest.
Rock outcrop makes up about 55 percent of the mapping unit and
occupies ridge crests and steeper sideslopes. Un (Cabrini) soils make
up sbout 15 percent of the mapping unit and occupy sideslopes over hard
bedrock. Retake soils make up about 15 percent of the mapping unit and
occupy sideslopes over soft bedrock.
Included are Curecanti and Lininger soils, end talus slopes.
Curecenti soils lack bedrock above 40 inches depth and occupy toeslope
fill positions. Lininger soils have bedrock between 20 and 40 inches
depth end occupy small coves and depressions. Talus slopes generally
occur adJacent to a Large rock outcrop. Total inclusions are less than
" 15 percent of the mapping unit area. "'
Rock outcrop consists mainly of large bnuldera and exRosures of
lgneous and metamorphic rocks.
Ua (Cabrini) soil is a shallow, yell drained soil on mountain
sideslopes. It formed in noncalcareous mixed material derived from
igneous and metamorphic rocks.
Typically the surface layer is dark brown very stogy sandy loam
about 11 inches thick overlying hard bedrock. -
Permeability is moderate, and available water capacity is low.
Effective rooting depth is 20 inches or less. Surface runoff is rapid,
and erosion hazard is high. Shrink-swell potential is low. Depth to
lard bedrock is less than 20 inches. Surfaces ase very stony.
Retake soil; is a shallow, yell drained soil on mountain sideslopes.
It formed in noncalcareous mixed material derived from igneous and
metamorphic rocks.
Typically the surface layer is dark brown very stogy sandy loam
about 12 inches thick overlying soft bedrock.
Permeability is moderate, and available xater capacity is low.
Effective rooting depth is 20 inches or less.
