• CONCLUSIONS
The Bear Number 1 and 2 mine sites were reclaimed in 1982 and are in the
eleventh year of the reclamation bond period. Studies conducted in August of 1991 and
1992 and September of 1993 focused on determining whether vegetation on the
reclaimed surfaces met or exceeded the success criteria which are outlined in the 1987
Findings Document (Bear Mines No. 1, 2, and 3 -Permit C-81-033). Success criteria
apply to the Bear No. 1 and 2 mines for herbaceous cover, herbaceous production, and
species diversity. 1991, 1992, and 1993 data collected describing these parameters
indicate that these success criteria have been met or exceeded, qualifying the site for
final bond release consideration per Rule 4.15.7(5). No woody stem density success
standard applies to the sites. All parameters were sampled to adequacy (with 90%
statistical confidence) in 1991, 1992 and 1993.
n
U
9
