3!19/2005 <br />To Whom It May Concern: <br />In October of 1993 Dr. John H. K. Vogel, M.D., F.A.C.C. of the Cardiovasculaz <br />Pulmonary Medical Group of Sanffi Bazbara, California diagnosed me as having <br />Pulmonary Hypertension and Thrombotic Disease [blood clots]. <br />Pulmonary Hypertension is the result of abnormally high blood pressure in the lungs. The <br />small vessels that supply blood to the lungs become damaged and constrict, making it <br />harder for blood to get to the lungs and forcing the heart to work harder. One of the <br />medications I currently am on is the medication Deltiazem, which I most hlcely will be on <br />for life. <br />Dr, Vogel attributed Thrombotic Disease [blood clots] to be caused by taking Premarin. <br />Thrombotic Disease in turn creates Pulmonary Hypertension. At the time I was not <br />aware that one of the side affects of Premarin is the creation of blood clots. These blood <br />clots damaged the capillaries in my lungs, which in turn now prevent my optimal use of <br />the oxygen in the air. I believe I currently utilize approximately 80'/0 of my lungs <br />capability of obtaining oxygen I was on the dangerous blood thinner Coumadin for 6 <br />years to combat the forming of more blood clots. <br />There is a grave concern that the possibility of excessive dust being raised by additional <br />quarrying activities in the vicinity could further damage my lungs <br />Louan Lundberg <br />l~ , <br />
