3!19/2005
To Whom It May Concern:
In October of 1993 Dr. John H. K. Vogel, M.D., F.A.C.C. of the Cardiovasculaz
Pulmonary Medical Group of Sanffi Bazbara, California diagnosed me as having
Pulmonary Hypertension and Thrombotic Disease [blood clots].
Pulmonary Hypertension is the result of abnormally high blood pressure in the lungs. The
small vessels that supply blood to the lungs become damaged and constrict, making it
harder for blood to get to the lungs and forcing the heart to work harder. One of the
medications I currently am on is the medication Deltiazem, which I most hlcely will be on
for life.
Dr, Vogel attributed Thrombotic Disease [blood clots] to be caused by taking Premarin.
Thrombotic Disease in turn creates Pulmonary Hypertension. At the time I was not
aware that one of the side affects of Premarin is the creation of blood clots. These blood
clots damaged the capillaries in my lungs, which in turn now prevent my optimal use of
the oxygen in the air. I believe I currently utilize approximately 80'/0 of my lungs
capability of obtaining oxygen I was on the dangerous blood thinner Coumadin for 6
years to combat the forming of more blood clots.
There is a grave concern that the possibility of excessive dust being raised by additional
quarrying activities in the vicinity could further damage my lungs
Louan Lundberg
l~ ,
