SECTION 6.0 Livestock Pond construction Through 1988 and
Proposed approximate Locations for 1989
This correspondence is to update CMLRD on the final locations of constructed livestock ponds at Trapper
Mine through 1988 and the proposed approximate locations for pond constuction in 1989 (see attached
map). The average pond density on Trapper reclaim areas will not exceed one pond per ten acres of
drainage area. In past correspondence, Trapper has presented livestock pond construction information by
pit (Ashmore, Derringer and Enfield) density rather than by specific drainage area (Johnson Gulch, Coyote,
etc.) density. The attached Table 1 describes pond density, more appropriately, in association with specific
drainage areas.
The enclosed map shows 43 additional ponds that may be constructed to accommodate the optimum
density for livestock/wildl'rfe use on the area. The additional ponds, if constructed, will be completed by
October 31, 1989. Table 2 describes the approximate drainage area per pond following 1989 construction.
As has been the case with all livestock/wildl'rfe pond construction, future pond construction will meet or
exceed state and federal standards and specifications. After constructed ponds have been inspected by
the SCS, we will forward their letter of approval to the Divison via our annual report.
WA/jsb [CMLRD\88REPT]
•
•
