• The outslope of the fill is graded at approximately 2.5:1 with 20-foot benches constructed every
40 feet in elevation. At reclamation, the outslopes and top of the fill are covered with topsoil or
suitable material after rough grading takes place. The outslopes are walked with a dozer to
minimize erosion prior to seeding. Appropriately armored diversion ditches are installed on each
side of the fill to carry runoff to a sediment control structure. The top of the fill and the benches
are graded to direct runoff to these perimeter collection ditches. ~.~i /
Spoil Transportation Zones ~Q ~ Gyre h-o J ,
Spoil transportation zones are eas adjacent to the fills and below the coal seams mined. They
are shown on Map 2.05.3-1. Overburden may be transported over the areas by dozer or gravity
for final placement in the fill. Overburden will be transported only over these areas- no coal will
be recovered inside [he zones. After the overburden is transported over these zones, they will be
restored to their original contour. No material will be stored in these zones. Following
overburden removal and placement, the zones will be walked with a dozer to minimize erosion,
topsoil replaced, and seeded. The area covered by the zones is considered disturbed and treated
as such in sediment control and reclamation calculations.
•
I•
LnrencimPmc-PM'P(475)Dec2U02 wpd
2.05-11 (rEVised 10/S1/02)
