Artifact Density: Heavy_ Medium X Light_ Describe: <br />Large pieces of furniture present, but few small artifacts or debris <br />10. Additional information: The Whetstone family (John A. and James M.) came to Routt <br />County in the late 1800s. Both ran ranches and were politically active within the <br />county and state but these activities did not relate back with any importance to this <br />parcel of land. The main ranch ha_adquarters is situated on a different parcel found <br />two miles east of Hayden. <br />The Shaw brothers (John and Graham) came to Routt County in 1895 to homestead <br />along the Williams Fork (main ranch). They homesteaded several hundred acres near <br />Pagoda and elsewhere near Steamboat Springs. None of the Shaw brothers activities <br />relating to this parcel is associated with historical events which had any major <br />impacts with the local history. <br />Please complete parts 9 and 30 only if this form pertains to the site in general. <br />11.
