Box 1289
Montrose, Colorado 81402
RE: Shwano Pit, File No. 83-208
Dear Mr. Warren:
~II II~'I~II~II~~ I~~
sss
We have reviewed the above application for adequacy and have the following
questions, comments, and requests which are intended to help bring the
application Into compliance with the Mined Land Reclamation Act.
Exhibit C - Pre-minlna/Mtnlny Plan Map
The map should clearly identify the following: 18.46 acre permit
boundary, Information per Rule 2.12(3)(c); area disturbed vs. area to be
mined; topsoil/overburden stockpiles; drainages; access road; and any
significant, valuable and permanent manmade structures located within
200 feet of the affected land.
2. It would be helpful to include the contour lines somewhat outside the
permit area in order to give an impression of the adjacent topography.
Exhibit E - Mining Plan
In light of the Board's comments at their January 26, 1984 meeting
regarding concurrent reclamation, a plan outlining this approach to this
operation should be provided.
2. In order to avoid conflicting Interpretations surrounding the beneficial
use of "wasteland", given as your goal of reclamation, we would
encourage this tD be changed to rangeland, as suggested in your
reclamation plan.
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
