Specifically, this material consists of cut pieces of natural building stone, with no
mortar or adhesives. Tha stone pieces are irregular-shaped and generally no larger than twelve
inches in any dimension. An affidavit is attached certifying that the stone is inert and "clean".
We anticipate placing approximately 80 tans per Week of this material at the south end of dte
existing mine pit. Tha material will be placed at the mine Bile starting on or about September 20,
2004 and continue for a period of approximately five years. Rock material will be end-dumped
along the side of the mine pit. Thp rock material will subsequently be placed and compacted with
the use of heavyrequipment. Following placement, the material will be covered with, at least, 18
inches of matertal derived from the permit area. The thickness of applied topsoil will be
consistent with the site reclamation plan. The stone pieces are relatively uniform in size and non-
compressible, a,td therefore, post-placement settling of the material wit) not likely occur.
Placement of the stone material will assist in site reclamation by providing additional fill material
as replacement for removed materials. %3;he stone material will not impact surface water runoff
quality, because the material does not contain contaminants, and local area storm water runoff is
diverted away from the mine disturbed area, Also, the stone material will not impact
groundwater quality because it is native rock material and contains no contaminants. Further, the
material will not be placed below the saturated zone.
7 can be reached at 303-783-3061 should you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Robinson Brick Company
Gregory /Knell, C.P.G., C.H.M.M.
Environmental Compliance Coordinator
1845 West Dartmouth Avenue
sates (303) 783-3000 ToTI Free
Web-site: www,
• Denver, Colorado 80110-1306
(800) 477-9002 Fax (303) 781-1818
robinsonbrick.com
Permit #: FZ - I ~igl -l~Fg Confidental?:1~
Class: Type-Seq.:
From: g,i~<,~ ~/lrGLG.
