Specifically, paragraph 1 (c) of my lettef Yti.S been supplemented to read as follows: (c) The operator will conduct investigations on native plant esta- blishment, emphasizing forbs, in conjunction with studies to be carried out on experimental vegetation plots representative of actual embankment conditions. Tne purpose of the experimental plots will be the further refinement of the reclamation plan and to conduct onsite reclamation studies to evaluate the depth of soil cover required to attain the reclamation objectives set forth in the application. If these studies indicate the operator's objectives can be adequately met with a different thiclmess of soil cover than is required by 1 (a) herein, these requirements will be Trended accordingly. In addition, the operator will encourage ccm~ercial seed production of native forb species by cooperating with commercial seed Growers and die Meeker and Las Lunes Plant A'aterials Centers, and other sources. By virtue of this amendment it is understood and agreed that Exxon will not con- fine its studies to forb establisturent. I trust that you will find this correspondence acceptable.
