This letter is a suppiemEr; to the discussions and history included in our <br />August 18, 1992, letter t~ Trans~+ "~ x, c: ~+rh you reCe,•: ed a ^curtesy copy. <br />t } We have no comment or objecricn regarC;~y the succession of operator. <br />~ 2) To implement the mining and reclamation as proposed will require approval <br />of a Use Subject to Special Review application by El Paso County, since <br />Mining is proposed in areas that are not contained within an approved <br />Use Subject to Special Review. If one newly acquired areas are not approved <br />( by E7 Paso County for mining, many aspects of the proposed amendment to •;,~ <br />' the mining and reclamation. plan could not be ar`,ieved. <br />¢' ~ :< <br /> <br />3) The character of <br />e area certainly could change considering the time frame of mining operations <br />- and the location of the property with respect to major roadways. The 1990 Land <br />Use Plan (adopted in 1970} is the applicable land use element of the locally <br />adopted Master Plan for the area. It depicts residential uses on the land east of <br />~. Academy Boulevard, with open space and recreational uses fpllpwing the <br />Fountain Mutual Irrigation Ditch and Little Johnson Reservoir. The existing <br />~ <br />~, zoning of a majority of the site is A-1 (Agricultural) District, with some PID <br />~, _s <br />(Planned Industrial) pistrict.
