United States • oil III IIIIII'IIIII •
~1~~ Department of Conservation I'II
~~`~'~ Agriculture Service 999
4302 W. 9th St. Road, Creeley, CO. 80631 January 7, 1980
Milton Beu~rogartner, President
West Greeley Soil Conservation District
P. 0. Box 86
Greeley, Colorado 80632
I have reviewed the referral from the 4leld Covnty Planning Commission for
Velma Frank, Special Use Permit for an Open Cut P1ine for sand and.gzavel,
9.9 acres to be located in the W~NW~ of Section 19, Twp. 6N, Range b7W,
1'# miles west of Windsor, Colorado.
The plan seems reasonable and complete and includes our recommendations for
reclamation of [he site during and/or after mining operations are complete.
The reclamation plan states specifically that reclamation will be performed
in a manner recommended by the Soil Conservation Service. An on-site inves-
tigation was performed and recommendations were prepared in July of 1979 for
the site.
The plan does not reference any erosion control measures [hat will be imple-
mented during the mining process. However, due to site conditions, I do not,
feel erosion will be a serious problem. Consideration should be given to '
the possibility of establishing vegetation on the material stockpiles to
reduce wind and water erosion until [he material is needed for [opsoiling
for reclamation purposes.
f Sincerely, J /
/~c ~/mot/~!~) ~%~~~GC~
_RR"onnald D.
