Dry Rangeland The following seed mix is recommended for the upland dry <br />rangeland azeas. After regrading, the reclaimed azea should be <br />tilled. The seed mix can then be broadcast and mulch applied <br />over the seeding. The mulch will be crimped in at a rate of I.5 <br />tons/acre. This seed mix <br />should be hand-raked into the soil and covered with mulch, <br />avoiding the compaction of mechanical equipment. The mulch <br />will be crimped in at a rate of 1.5 tons/acre. Only certified weed <br />free mulch will be used. Tubelings or cuttings will also be <br />planted along all lake edges. Cottonwoods, willow, sumac and <br />buffalobeny will be planted in clumps of 10 to 15 trees with the <br />trees spaced about 8-10 feet apart. The clumps will be about 100 <br />to 200 feet apart.
