The <br />classification used to designate these soils is a cinder pit, <br />The surrounding soil is an unnamed loam, being deep and xell <br />drained. It was formed in alluvium and is shown on the map as <br />15C. Typically the surface layer is dark brown loam about 5 <br />inches thick, The subsoil is brown clay loam about 15 inches <br />thick. The upper part of the substratum is highly calcareous <br />p i~rkish white clay loam about 12 inches thick. The lower part <br />of the substratum is highly calcareous pinkish white gravelly <br />sandy clay loam to 60 inches. Permeability is moderately slow <br />and water capacity is moderate, Surface runoff is medium and <br />erosion hazzard is moderate from water. <br />Topsoil removed from the mined area is stockpiled and can be <br />used at the time of reclamation.
