APPENDIX B
UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE
SOIL CONSERVATION SERVICE
2017 W 9th Street, Creeley, CO 80631
Greeley Sand and Gravel Co.
N 25 Ave.
Gres Ley , CO 80631
March 10, 1977
Mr. Roman V. Bockua, acting as your agent, has requested a vegetation
survey and a seeding recommendation for 369 acres in sections 34 and
35, T6N, R66W. He further requested that I outline native pegetation
communities on the aerial photograph of the property.
Due to past use and distuubance from grazing and farming activities,
native plant communities have deteriorated almost to the poinR of non-
existence. Inland saltgraae is the most abundant native species.
Alkali aacaton and western wheatgraae are present but in trace amounts.
iiany of the cottonwoods are dead or severely damaged Erom weather and
cattle activity. Many noxious annuals have invaded the area due to
pas[ disturbance and will create problems during rehabilitation. A
weed control program will be essential for aucceseful rehabilitation.
Plant community lieta are enclosed with corresponding letters on the
aerial photograph. Also enclosed La a seeding recommendation. Please
bear in mind that the plant list is not totally complete. Gracing
pressure has rendered ^ome plant unidentifyable and some annual species
may have blown away. There will undoubtably be more annual species
this spring. The composition of each species is merely an ocular esti-
mate.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to call.
Sincerely,
i,~ ~ ~'~
" Jeffery B.
